New Zealand Now Supports UN Declaration on Indigenous Rights!
Just a couple of hours ago, New Zealand announced that it would reverse its “no vote on the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. This is very exciting news, as New Zealand was one of only four countries who voted against the Declaration in 2007, along with Australia, Canada, and the United States. Australia has since reversed its vote. That means that with New Zealand’s announcement, only Canada and the US still have “no” votes on this declaration.
